A Simple Path To Success
What is it that makes people successful? And by this, I mean really successful in comparison to you or me? Are they smarter or do they work harder? Are they risk takers or have powerful and influential friends? Not really. All they did was simply studied industry leaders and entrepreneurs to understand the traits they all had in common that contributed to their success.
So what I want to share with you is 8 secrets that I’ve learned throughout the years of studying people and understanding common traits that if put in place, will get you on the right path to success.
#1 On A Path To Success- Attitude
Having the right attitude can make all the difference between success and failure. Your attitude is particularly important when you face seemingly hopeless situations. For example, you may have just lost your job and you’re trying to figure out how you’re going to pay that next bill or you’ve failed miserably in an attempt to start a business. Well there is no point of beating yourself up about it. It’s only going to make things worse. Instead, you have to React. You have to have a belief that you can dig yourself out and accomplish anything no matter what the situation may be. The moment you say to yourself “I can’t…”, then you won’t. Always be positive. Think Success, not Failure and beware of a negative environment.
#2 On Your Path To Success- Determine Your “Why” And Set Goals
Why do you want success? What are your dreams and desires? What is the driving force behind it? What vehicle are you going to use to get there? Write these down and develop a plan. Goals are those concrete, measurable stepping stones of achievement that track your progress towards your dreams.
#3 On Your Path To Success- Take Action
Realize that nothing in life comes easy. You have to be ready and willing to roll up your sleeves and get to work. If you want to become a better blogger, blog everyday. If you want to become a better speaker, make a video or do a presentation everyday. It may not be great the first few times, but it will get better over time. Every successful person was not perfect in the beginning. Start small and grow from there. Your goals is merely a dream without action.
#5 On Your Path To Success- Education
Never stop learning. Find a mentor, attend events, webinars and workshops to acquire new skills. As an entrepreneur, I have to
stay up to date and in tuned to what’s going on in my industry. This way, I can continue to serve others and give valuable information to those looking to take similar paths to success and achieve a life of financial freedom. I truly believe that every story of success read entails long hard hours of work. There is no getting around this. But, if you’re working towards something that you’re passionate about, something you love – then you have to ask yourself, is it really work?
#6 On Your Path To Success- Focus
This is a very crucial step that many people can’t grasp. Don’t let other people or things distract you. Remain laser focused on your goals and surround yourself with positive people that believe in you. Don’t let naysayer’s or unimportant tasks that has nothing to do with you achieving your goals get in the way.
#7 On Your Path To Success- Push
Forget about being shy and having self doubts. When I was young, I was very shy and reserved. I remember when I used to go to my half brother’s house, I would just stand by the door because I was so shy and afraid to just walk to the couch and have a seat. I could not speak in front of people or a class for a project. It was terrible. But I realized that if I wanted to be successful in life and be significant to other people, I would have to come out of my shell. So learn to trust yourself and your value. You have to push past whatever doubts you may be feeling and understand that the world wants to hear your story. People need you to make a difference.
Which brings me to the last secret to put you on the right path to success…
Become A Leader
Now I know you’re probably thinking…”I’m not ready for that yet” or “I have no credibility.” It does not matter. Start somewhere. Take what you’ve learned and share it with others. If you follow step #5 and consistently educate yourself, share it. Make a video or host a workshop where you teach others how to do what you’ve just learned. I guarantee you that someone will benefit from it.
You don’t have to be a genius. All you’re doing is simply giving valuable information that has helped you. This is the #1 contributing factor to successful people. And not only will you position yourself as a leader and an expert, but it will also boost your self confidence each and every time you do it.
So get out there! Dare to be great! Challenge yourself, push past your comfort zone and Big things will happen…I promise.
